The UK Joint Tuberculosis Committee is seeking a new Chair, along with three consultant committee members and one trainee committee member. BTS membership is required for the committee member roles, but not for the Chair.
The principal aims of the Joint Tuberculosis Committee are to:
- co-ordinate specialist expert opinion across the UK in those matters which require national attention and action, by bringing together specialist medical opinion, (including mycobacteriology and pathology), public health expertise, epidemiological information, and national government policy advice
- act as a source of advice on tuberculosis (and non-tuberculous mycobacteria, as required) to healthcare professionals, hospital trusts/health boards, and other organisations and individuals throughout the UK.

Interviews for the Chair role will take place on Teams during late August/early September. Applicants for committee members will be selected based on their statements and how well they match the work of the committee.
