We are seeking applications from BTS members for vacancies on our Advisory Groups, starting in November 2026, and serving for three years. These vacancies are open to all members of the multi-professional respiratory team.
Our Advisory Groups all have the following remit:
- To advise the Society on matters which influence the care of patients with specific respiratory disease(s) including their treatment, therapy and procedures; appropriate standards of care and resources; and education and research requirements.
- To provide a pool of expert opinion the Society can draw on when it receives requests for advice or responds to consultations, including identifying where further opinions might be needed from colleagues beyond the core Advisory Group.

- Bronchiectasis
- COPD
- Critical Care, Respiratory Failure and Mechanical Ventilation
- Interstitial & Rare Lung Disease
- Pleural Disease
- TB and NTM
- Tobacco Dependency
We are seeking new members for the following groups:

To apply, please submit a brief statement of around 250 words outlining your suitability for the role, and a short CV (2-3 pages). Applicants will be selected based on their statements and how well they match the work of the Group. When selecting candidates, we also aim to achieve a balance of experience levels, multidisciplinary representation and geographical coverage in each group.
