BTS Quality Standard for chronic cough in adults

Call for members

In December 2023, the British Thoracic Society (BTS) published a Clinical Statement on Chronic Cough in Adults, which provides an overview of best practice in relation to the management of chronic cough in adults. Building on this, BTS has commissioned a Quality Standard in this topic area for 2025 and is calling for applications to be a member of the Quality Standard development group.

BTS Quality Standards set out a number of concise and measurable quality statements, derived from the best available evidence that, when implemented, will help improve the quality of care across a clinical pathway or disease area.

We are pleased to invite applications from individuals to be a member of the group that will produce this Quality Standard on chronic cough in adults.  Successful applicants will join Professor Jacky Smith and Dr Sean Parker, who co-chaired the Clinical Statement group, and will chair the Quality Standard development group.

Candidates for membership of the group should submit a statement outlining the reasons for wishing to join the group and what skills and expertise they would bring.  A short CV from each candidate should also be included.  Applications are invited from consultant physicians, specialty trainees, nurses and other healthcare professionals.  Applicants should be BTS members.

All applications should be made via the online application form here: https://www.brit-thoracic.org.uk/my-bts-modules/election-submission/

Queries should be address to:  Miguel Souto, BTS Head of Clinical Programmes, miguel.souto@brit-thoracic.org.uk

Deadline: 5pm Monday 9th June 2025
