NIV
The British Thoracic Society published its Quality Standards for acute Non-Invasive Ventilation in Adults in 2018, following the 2017 National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death ‘Inspiring Change’, which highlighted a mortality rate of over a third for patients receiving NIV.
We also developed a NIV QI tool to help in setting up a QI project aimed at improving NIV care.
