The new BTS Guideline for bronchiectasis in adults has been published and will appear as a supplement to the January 2019 issue of Thorax.
Professor Adam Hill, Dr Anita Sullivan and Professor Michael Loebinger, co-chairs of the BTS Guideline Group, sum up the importance of this new document.
"The new BTS Bronchiectasis Guideline provides an evidence based framework for the diagnosis and management of bronchiectasis. The addition of algorithms, such as stepwise management of the stable patient and the deteriorating patient, will help clinicians deliver optimal, multidisciplinary care for this condition".
