Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary rehabilitation has been a priority area for a number of years. To ensure that recent advances in Pulmonary Rehabilitation standard setting and clinical audit are supported by rigorous Quality Improvement (QI) programme, BTS established the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Quality Improvement Advisory Group (PRQIAG). The PRQIAG is chaired by Professor Sally Singh.

A full pulmonary rehabilitation accreditation scheme was launched by the RCP in April 2018.  BTS, along with BLF remains a supporter of this scheme.  The accreditation standards for the new scheme are still derived from the BTS Quality Standards but have been updated to take into account the British Standards Institute clinical services standard PAS1616. Further information on the scheme and how to register is available here.
