The use of physiological data within specialist clinics

Luke Howard is a Consultant Pulmonologist and Clinical Director of the National Pulmonary Hypertension Service at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. His clinical and academic work focuses on pulmonary hypertension, exercise physiology, haemodynamics, and the use of physiological data to guide diagnosis, risk stratification, and treatment in specialist clinics. He has a particular interest in integrating invasive haemodynamics, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and remote monitoring to improve clinical decision-making and patient follow-up. He leads a major clinical research portfolio and has published extensively in pulmonary vascular disease, exercise physiology, and innovative approaches to physiological assessment in routine and research practice.

Katie Borg is a trainee advanced nurse practitioner, and she is the lead nurse for the Oxford Special Airways Service at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Until recently, she was a clinical research nurse for the University of Oxford, and is an author on over 50 publications. She is still actively involved in clinical research in severe asthma. She helped developed Oxford into an NHS England commissioned Severe Asthma Centre, and she set up and runs specialist services, including biologics, specialist adherence and rapid assessment clinics. She is a prescriber, a member of the Association of Respiratory Nurse Specialists and a member of the BTS Nurse Advistory Group.
