Targeting COPD: from mechanistics to therapeutics

Anthony Martinelli is a respiratory physician-scientist with interests in airways disease, iron metabolism, and infection. He trained in Cambridge as a Wellcome Clinical PhD Fellow and Clinical Lecturer, where his research focused on using genetic approaches to better understand host cell biology. Alongside his laboratory work, he has led multi-centre studies on pneumothorax, including as part of the INSPIRE network. He has enjoyed serving as a previous representative on the BTS Science and Research Committee, and as a member of the COPD and Biologic Therapies Clinical Statement Group.
