BTS Webinars

Every year we run a series of webinars. These are free to attend and support the full multi-professional respiratory workforce.

CPD accreditation will not be provided for BTS webinars and no CPD certificates will be issued.

However, RESP webinars do offer CPD for attendees, and these are available to book on the Respiratory Futures website.

You will need to register to attend each webinar. We take your privacy seriously, and we will never pass on your details to third parties for marketing purposes. For more information about how we use and store your data, please click here to view the Society’s privacy policy.

TB Medicines Shortage Webinar 2025 - Postponed

Date: 9 September  Time: 12:30 to 13.30

NHS England have advised us that they are soon to be in receipt of additional information which they would like to be in the position to share. On discussion, we have taken the decision to postpone the webinar scheduled for 12.30pm on Tuesday 9 September and reschedule to before the end of September.

The new date will be published as soon as possible on the BTS website and related networks. In the interim, we would draw your attention to the current supply position.  Please note you are required to register with the site (www.sps.nhs.uk) with an NHS  email account to obtain access.

The rescheduled webinar will provide an opportunity to update on positive steps being taken to secure and improve supply. It will be made available on a different platform for NHS staff only and will continue to provide advice for clinicians on options to best support and manage patients, with an opportunity for questions.

A separate notification cancelling the event has been sent to registered participants.

Biologics in Respiratory Medicine - Webinar Series

BTS is pleased to offer this series of webinars to share learning on the use of biologic treatment for patients with Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), COPD and asthma.

Anti-IL5R and other treatment approaches in the management of EGPA
Date: 7 October 2025 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Speakers: Prof David Jackson (London) & Dr Rona Smith (Cambridge)

Benralizumab has recently become the first NICE-approved biologic treatment for Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA). This rare heterogeneous condition is defined by the presence of eosinophilic inflammation leading to clinical remission rates of approximately 60% with benralizumab. However, other inflammatory pathways are frequently involved requiring a personalised multidisciplinary approach to management.

This webinar will review the clinical trial data, the new NICE guidance and discuss how to approach and manage patients with EGPA.

COPD webinar:
Date: 17 October 2025 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Speakers and registration details to be confirmed.

Navigating the complexity of asthma biologics: from choice to delivery
Date: 22 October 2025 12:30pm - 1.30pm
Speakers: Alexandra Nanzer (London) & Helena Cummings (Hull)

The right treatment for the right patient with severe asthma can be transformative but requires an in-depth knowledge of responder characteristics, causes of persisting symptoms whilst on biologic treatment and common reasons for treatment failure. Equally important is a clear understanding of how to deliver ongoing care in patients established on biologics. This webinar will cover the key aspects relating to the holistic management of patients with severe asthma covering both medical and nursing aspects of biologic delivery.

A third webinar will be advertised shortly.

MDR-TB Clinical Simulated Case Discussion 2025

Date: 21 October 2025 Time: 12:30 to 14.00

Following the success of the first MDR-TB Clinical Advice Service Webinar last year, BTS is pleased to be offering a second free, educational, webinar this autumn with new content and learning opportunities around the treatment and management of Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis and other complex TB cases.

The webinar will simulate the case discussions that take place at the regular, monthly, virtual MDTs offered by the service (CAS).

The CAS offers clinicians facing the most complex TB cases access to consensus, peer advice from expert clinicians drawn from specialties including Respiratory Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Paediatric ID, TB Nursing, Microbiology and Public Health.

Three simulated cases will be presented and discussed in this webinar by a group of our expert advisors, and topics covered in the case discussions will include learning points around:

  • MDR-TB treatment principles and drug toxicity management
  • MDR-TB new regimens for treatment
  • MDR-TB with End Stage Renal Failure (ESRF)
  • MDR-TB in children
  • MDR-TB Public Health concerns
  • Other complex TB

After each case discussion, there will be an open Q&A session.

This webinar is open to all NHS professionals but of particular interest to the following:

• Trainee doctors from Respiratory, ID, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Public Health

• All roles with an interest in treatment of MDR-TB cases
