New BTS Trustee of Sustainability

Dr Laura-Jane Smith

BTS is delighted to welcome Dr Laura-Jane Smith to a newly created BTS Trustee position, the Trustee of Sustainability.

Laura-Jane is a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine/General Internal Medicine at Kings College London. She has a strong interest in developing and supporting sustainable healthcare. Within her Trust, Laura-Jane has created a new role, the Clinical Lead for Sustainability, and sits on the Sustainability Steering Group herself. This has involved the establishment of several working groups focused on Sustainable Respiratory Care (predominantly inhalers), Air Quality, and Sustainable Diets.

Although new to leadership within BTS, Laura-Jane has held and worked with a range of other groups in the sustainable healthcare space. She has already put forward multiple suggestions and ideas to support grow the work BTS can champion in sustainability in respiratory care moving forward.
