BTS Medical Student Award 2020

Ambreen Muhammed, medical student at the National Lung and Heart Institute of Imperial College London, was awarded the BTS Medical Student Award at the Winter Meeting 2020, for her work "Investigating the role of dishevelled associated activator of morphogenesis 2 (daam2) in lung development" (abstract s28).
Congratulations also are in order for the highly commended researcher Nidhish Jeyin of the Royal
Brompton Hospital, for the work: "Dual energy computerised tomography (dect) quantifies lobar iodine distribution in patients with severe emphysema" (abstract s20).

The prestigious Medical Student Awards are highly competitive and are awarded to the very best basic, translational or clinical research performed in the UK respiratory community by Medical students. Qualifying projects can include clinical audit, quality improvement, systematic review writing or laboratory work.
The prizes are awarded based on the quality and content of the research performed and the quality of the abstract submitted.
