We are seeking volunteers to join the BTS Council. Council is made up of the BTS President, the Chair of the BTS Board, 18 Council members elected by ballot of the BTS membership, and a number of appointed positions. Elected Council members also serve on a standing BTS Committee of their choice. Council meets twice a year in March and October.
We have 6 current vacancies, one of which is reserved for a member who is within 10 years of their primary qualification or time in respiratory practice at the time of election. The successful applicants will join Council for a three-year term from November 2026.

How to apply
To apply, you will need to be proposed and seconded by two BTS members in good standing: you will be asked to enter their names in the application form. Your application should also include a brief statement of around 250 words outlining your suitability for the role, and a short CV (2-3 pages). You must be a BTS member to apply for these roles.
If an election is necessary, it will be held online among all BTS members after the application deadline, with further details circulated to the membership nearer to the time.
