Professor Adam Hill will receive the BTS Meritorious Service Award for 2018 at a ceremony during the BTS Winter Meeting on 5th December 2019.
Professor Adam Hill is based at the Royal Infirmary and University of Edinburgh. He is the Respiratory Infection Lead and has a special interest in Bronchiectasis, Community Acquired Pneumonia and Tuberculosis. He is actively involved in clinical and translational research in respiratory infection.
He was selected to receive this award in recognition of his work over many years for the Society which has included:-
Chairmanship of the new BTS Guideline for Bronchiectasis in Adults, due out in early 2019; Chair of the BTS Quality Standards Group which published the first quality standards for bronchiectasis in 2012; clinical lead for the national BTS Bronchiectasis audits over the past 6 years.
He has also chaired the Respiratory Specialty Advisory Committee for the JRCPTB (2012-2015) and he has been the Chair of the Respiratory Specialty Certificate Examination since 2013.
