Become a BTS MDR-TB Clinical Service Adviser

The MDR-TB Clinical Advice Service (CAS) provides advice and support to clinicians across the UK who encounter MDR-TB and other complex TB cases. The advice is offered by a multidisciplinary panel of Clinical Service Advisers (CSAs), with expertise in areas such as respiratory medicine, infectious diseases, microbiology, pharmacy, TB nursing, and public health. The advice is provided via a secure online case discussion forum and at monthly MDT meetings which are held via Teams.
BTS appoints a panel of Clinical Service Advisers (CSAs) to provide advice to clinicians through a rapid-response forum hosted on the MDR-TB site. In addition to the online forum, advice is given through monthly, timetabled virtual MDTs which run for 3 hours and CSAs are asked to commit to attending at least 4 per calendar year.
BTS invites applications from clinicians with the following specialist areas of TB expertise:

Respiratory medicine: 2 roles available

Infectious diseases: 5 roles available

Paediatrics: 2 roles available

Pharmacy: 4 roles available

TB nursing : 4 roles available
To apply:
Applicants should be familiar with the work of the BTS MDR-TB Clinical Advice Service (BTS MDR-TB Clinical Advice Service) and be able to demonstrate that they are able to fulfil the requirements as outlined in the role description. The role description is available here.
Applicants are not required to be BTS members.
The successful candidates will serve for three years, starting 1 January 2025.

Please submit a short CV and a brief statement outlining the reasons for wishing to become a Clinical Service Adviser by 5pm Friday 18 October. Applicants must also confirm, in writing, that they are able to commit both to a 3-year tenure giving ad hoc advice through the Clinical Advice Service forum and to attending a minimum of 4 of the monthly virtual MDTs per year.
