Course organised by Dr Nasir Siddique and colleagues. This is a one day course aimed all grades. It covers safety issues, pre-procedural assessments, role of radiology in insertion of chest drains safely and how to deal with complications. Video demonstrations will be given before hands on experience workshops on state of the art mannequins. These will be in the form of small groups. Antrim thoracic ultrasound course 2018051212 May 2018 Antrim Hospital, Northern Ireland

Dr Izhaq Masih and Dr Ronan Donnelly have organised an ultrasound course for consultants, speciality doctors, respiratory trainees, emergency medicine, acute medicine and ICU doctors to achieve ultrasound level 1 certificate.

This one day course is designed to cover the topics of ultrasound physics, knobology, anatomy and disease patterns through lectures, hands on experience under the supervision of experienced ultrasound lecturers and teachers. Practice opportunities include ultrasound on patients and phantom. Those who aspire to train at level 2 and beyond in chest ultrasound can learn basic techniques of lymph node aspiration and biopsy. Due to limited places, we advise early booking. Six CPD points from the Royal College of Physicians have been applied.
