If you are a new user, you will need to register your details and install some software on your pc which will enable you to access the systems to enter your data. It is recommended that you fully involve your local IT Department in the installation process and reassure them that the systems are Caldicott compliant.
The most important part of the data entry process is the archiving of the entered data. Once you have completed entering a set of data for a particular data period, and you have no more editing or additions, you must archive the data using the 'Finish Data Entry' option from the 'Records' menu of the data form. This anonymises your data by removing the Hospital Number and Admission date. Further, it marks your data as complete so it can be used in National analysis. If you do not archive the data it will not appear in National aggregate data so other users will not get the benefit of your data to build the National picture.
