Statement on the Minimum Standards for Training for Stop Smoking Practitioners
BASSP is committed to raising the profile of smoking cessation as a profession. A vital part of this is ensuring training undertaken by practitioners is appropriate and well delivered. We have written a Statement on the Minimum Standards for Training for Stop Smoking Practitioners which will underpin much of our future activities. There are two sections; one covering brief intervention, the other specialist training. This document was launched at our second National Conference (2 October 2008). BASSP is proud to have developed this statement collaboratively; all BASSP members were offered the opportunity to comment and a consultation process was undertaken with relevant stakeholder organisations.
