BTS is a partner in the ERS European COPD audit which began in October 2010. This ERS project, led by Professor Mike Roberts, Dr. Sylvia Hartl and Dr. José Luis López-Campos, built on the successful 2008 UK COPD audit, and involves 18 countries including the UK, Ireland, Austria, Spain, Greece, Romania and Turkey.
BTS provides the national governance group for participation in the audit.
The audit collected organisational data as well as individual patient records for all those admitted for an exacerbation of COPD between 25 October and 19 December 2010, with follow-up data at 90 days after admission.
The final country report can be ordered here.
Individual hospital reports will be available in March 2012.
