The BTS Audit Tools system has recently undergone a major revision and upgrade.

The BTS audit tool system has been revised and updated. Each audit now has a designated National Audit period. It is hoped that users will participate in the relevant national BTS audits each year, to allow the BTS to produce an annual national audit report.
The audit tools will be available outside the National Audit Periods for local use (and will allow users to compare their local data with the national picture, but this local data will not contribute to the national dataset).

Adult Community Acquired Pneumonia
National Audit period 2009/10: 1 December – 31 January
Data entry is open now - 1 December 2009 to 28 May 2010
NIV (Adult)
National Audit period 2010: 1 February– 31 March
Data entry from runs from 1 February 2010 to 31 May 2010
Paediatric Pneumonia
National Audit period 2009/2010: 1 November– 31 January
Data entry runs from 1 November 2009 to 31 March 2010
Adult Asthma
2009 National Audit period: 1 September – 31 October 2009 (data entry for 2009 ran from 1 September 2009 to 15 January 2010, Thank you to all who contributed to the national adult asthma audit for 2009. The reporting function is now available (click through to the Adult Asthma audit to access the reports function). If you have any queries, please get in touch. The 2010 National adult asthma audit will open on 1 September 2010.
Emergency Oxygen
2009 National Audit period: October – November 2009 (data entry from 1 October 2009 to 30 November 2009). The reporting function will be available from mid March 2010. In the meantime preliminary results of the 2009 audit are available here. The 2010 National audit will open on 1 October 2010.
Paediatric Asthma
National Audit period 2009: 1 November– 30 November. Data entry for the 2009 national audit has now closed and users will be able to generate reports from the audit system in the near future. The 2010 National audit will open on 1 November 2010
2009 Pilot Pleural procedures audit
Thank you to all who contributed to the pilot pleural procedures audit in 2009.
A report on the pilot audit has been prepared and is available to download here.
The 2010 National Pleural Procedures audit will run in June/July 2010 and will be made available in the near future.
The following audit tool will be added to the system in the coming months:
COPD: work is underway to provide a COPD audit via the BTS audit system in autumn 2010.
