Date: 22 September 2008
Venue: Education Centre, National Heart & Lung Institute, London
The British Thoracic Society is pleased to announce the 2nd one-day course on Applied Physiology, organised by Professor Mike Polkey, Consultant Physician, Royal Brompton Hospital, London.
The course is divided into three parts. In the first, we aim to reinforce core principles underlying the physiology of routine lung function testing. In the second, non-standard aspects of clinical measurement will be discussed, again with particular reference to physiologic principles. In the third, new physiological approaches will be discussed. In each case discussion will be from a physiological perspective with reference to potential clinical applications.
It is hoped that the course will improve knowledge of current and future techniques in physiology relevant to those caring for patients with pulmonary disease and is aimed at clinicians at Specialist Registrar or Consultant level, lung function staff and post-graduate research students. Those who attended in 2006 will find some but not all parts of the course are repeated.
Maximum numbers: 100
Fees: £140.00 for BTS Members, £195.00 for non-BTS Members.
