The BTS guideline "Emergency Oxygen Use in Adult Patients" will be submitted to Thorax in early 2008 with an expected publication date of early Summer 2008.

This Guideline has received the endorsement of a large number of specialist medical and surgical Societies and Royal Colleges and will lead to substantial changes in practice. BTS is currently appointing a large number of "Oxygen Champions" who will lead local briefings in order to disseminate the main recommendations and implement required changes in practice.
