The Society currently has 8 members of staff at its Doughty Street HQ and a number of associates who assist in our activities.
Sheila Edwards - Chief Executive
Sheila is the main link to BTS Trustees and Honorary Officers, She undertakes the usual chief officer functions and is currently the main contact for external liaison, public affairs and communications activities. Sheila works particularly closely with the Education &Training, Science and Research, and Public Liaison Committees.

Sally Welham - Deputy Chief Executive
Sally takes the lead within head office for the Society's Quality Improvement activities - including Guidelines, Clinical Audit activities, the new BTS Lung Disease Registry and Care Bundles. She works closely with the Standards of Care, Professional & Organisational Standards, and Specialty Workforce Committees, plus liaison with NICE and SIGN. Sally is also responsible for supporting the work of the BTS Nominations Committee (including clinical excellence awards).

Joan Thompson - Support Services Manager
Joan is responsible for financial and membership administration and supervsion of general office activities. A significant part of Joan's work is membership-related. She maintains the membership database, including processing applications for membership and liaison with Thorax. Andi Morgan - Support Services Assistant
Andi is the main contact for short course delegates, Winter & Summer Meeting registrations and administrative support for Winter Meeting abstract submissions. He is also involved in membership administration and is the first point of contact for visitors to Doughty Street. Andi also organises all of the catering for meetings.

Christopher Routh - Data Manager
Chris is the main point of contact for routine queries about the BTS clinical audit system and is involved in supporting the Society's other Quality Improvement tools. Chris is also the BTS website manager, liaising closely with our programmers, and has technical input into the Society's e-learning activities.

Louise Preston - e-Learning Project Co-ordinator
Louise has worked for several years on special projects for BTS. Since 2009 she has been working on the development of e-learning modules with BTS colleagues and is responsible for commissioning content and overseeing module production.

Mary Stapleton - Executive Assistant, Clinical Programmes
Mary joined BTS in September 2012 to support the growing programme of work on Guidelines, clinical audit and quality improvement [programmes such as Care Bundles. She also collects data about new consultant appointments and maintains our information about Specilaist Trainees.

Nick Summerfield - Executive Assistant
Nick provides support for Committee servicing, including the Society's Education & Training, Science & Research and Public Liaison Committees, the UKRRC, the BTS Nurse Advisory Group and ad-hoc meetings. He keeps Committee members records up to date and administers the Declaration of Interest Scheme and Committee elections propceses.
